Get our application form

• Click on Application Form link below to download the form in MS Word format.
• When the form appears, SAVE AS a new MS Word file and choose a name to give it.
• Before starting to fill in the form, read carefully the Advice to Applicants webpage and Trust's marking system on Page 6 of the form.
• Fill in the form 'on screen' and SAVE it.
• Send your completed application form to Palestine.Education@durham.ac.uk as a file attachment to a brief email between 01 January and 28 February 2013. Applications sent in any other way will NOT be accepted. This address is monitored only after 01 January 2013.
• Keep a copy of your completed application form for your reference. This will also provide a back-up in case of problems.

Acknowledgement of receipt

• We will acknowledge receipt of your application.
• If it is accepted as a valid application, we will give you a reference number that you should use in all further correspondence.
• Email us if we have not replied within 5 days.

Family

The scholarship allowance is sufficient only for a single student. We cannot pay married or child allowances. Also, taught Masters courses are highly intensive and probably require about 10 hours study each day on a regular basis, and sometimes more than this. So there would be little time available to spend with your family.

However, if you can't come to Durham without your family, we will ask you to deposit in the Trust's bank account the sum of money necessary to cover your family's living expenses for their stay in the UK. This will be repaid to you in monthly installments during your course. You will also have to pay for your family's visas and airfares.

If we tell you that you are one of our selected candidates, you must then tell us if you may wish to bring your family to Durham. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of your scholarship offer.

To obtain a UK visa for a spouse or dependent children, you will have to show that you have enough money in your bank account to cover their living costs in the UK. For Durham, this amount is UK£450 per month for each of them (2012 figures). For further information, go to the UK visa website. This will not apply to you as the scholarship holder.
