What is UNISON?
UNISON is the recognised
trade union that represents Support Staff in Durham University.
We negotiate for better pay and conditions, help individuals
in trouble and campaign for a safer, fairer society.
UNISON is a democratic
organisation and is governed by members for members. Our contacts
page will tell you about representatives and elected officers
in the branch.
UNISON is Britain's biggest union, representing more than 1.3
million people across the UK's public services. The UoD branch
is one of 64 branches that constitute the Northern Region and
we are allied to other public sector workers such as Police
civilian staff, Transport, Utilities, NHS and Local Government.
With a large regional membership now greater than 95,000 members
we are a powerful voice for public sector workers in the North
East.
