College League

College Ultimate

There are currently 14 teams from 11 colleges playing Ultimate in Durham.  College Ultimate grows each year with more students entering university having played the sport before.

Throughout the first two terms the college teams compete to win the "DICUF League" (Durham Inter-Collegiate Ultimate Frisbee), which finishes in March, for the first time the College league is being split up into a Premiership and a Division 1 due to the increasing popularity of Ultimate throughout colleges.  Also running throughout the first two terms is a knockout competition which is being run for the very first time this year.

After the Easter holiday the teams also compete in the Durham University "Festival of Sport".

Introduced in 2009 in parallel with the results league, there is also a "Spirit League". Spirit of the Game is very similar to good sportsmanship in other sport.  Teams rate the "Spirit" of the opposing team after each game.  These scores are then averaged over the year and the team that receives the highest average score wins the Spirit League.  In Ultimate, Spirit of the Game is extremely important, so winning the Spirit League is as much of an acheivement as winning matches.
