St Chad's College 

  • Promotes the diversity of its staff and their interest in diversity and equality issues
  • Offers a programme of events annually which include a variety of diversity and equality topics
  • Has developed a Fellowship in partnership with the Traidcraft Foundation

St Cuthbert's Society

  • Students and staff are involved as HE Ambassadors to the 'Further-Higher' project in the northern region. Widening participation activities include presentations to Access students in Sunderland, Northumberland etc. and primary and secondary schools in Durham.
  • Work with senior tutors on tutor training events.

St Mary's College

  • meal provided for 21 Muslim women when they broke their fast at the end of Ramadan.
  • we have 4 Diversity student representatives on the student/tutor liaison group.
  • College provides one hot halal meal every day.
  • provision of first-floor en-suite rooms for ablutions before prayer for Muslim women.
  • developed relationship with taxi firm for assisting disabled people.
