Profile

Brian manages the Finance department and is responsible for the integrity, timeliness and relevance of the financial information prepared both for management and for external regulators. His role includes promoting the effectiveness of financial management throughout the University and particularly the efficiency of the financial support services in the Treasurer’s department. He contributes to interdisciplinary groups developing the strategic direction of the University and managing delivery of agreed strategy. He is Process Owner for the Oracle Financials and Cyborg Payroll elements of the Mitre contract. Brian also deputises for the Treasurer as necessary.

Brian joined the University in October 2000, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980 and worked in practice with KPMG before gaining further experience through senior roles in both industry and the National Health Service.
