Be a Chorister for the day at Durham Cathedral

On 26th May there is an opportunity for boys and girls in years 2 to 5 to be a Chorister for the day at Durham Cathedral. Hear the Choristers sing, learn more about the life of a Chorister and sing in the Cathedral with the Cathedral Choir.     

Durham Cathedral Choir consists of 20 girl Choristers and 20 boy Choristers who sing separately alongside the 12 gentlemen of the Choir. Choristers typically join the Choir between the ages of 7 and 9, and remain until the age of 13.

The schedule for the event is listed below: 

2.00 p.m. Registration in The Chorister School

2.15 p.m. Listen to the Choristers sing and learn about being a Chorister

3.00 p.m. Tour of the Boarding House

3.30 p.m. Walk to the Cathedral

3.45 p.m. Open rehearsal in the Cathedral

4.30 p.m. Tea in Prior's Hall for parents

5.15 p.m. Evensong
