DGSI runs a high-profile annual Lecture Series, which includes the DGSI Annual Lecture, as well as occasional seminars and conferences. The Annual Lecture and Lecture Series provide a forum for challenging current thinking on defence, development and diplomacy in the context of conflict prevention, humanitarian intervention and post-conflict stabilisation and reconstruction. Their aim is

• to stimulate and encourage public debate on critical issues
• challenge conventional assumptions and paradigm boundaries
• suggest alternative practices and ways of thinking

Lectures will be made available online as pod- or video-casts.

Seminars and conferences areorganised around emerging themes from within the various research streams and in response to external events andopportunities.
