DEI Awarded EPSRC Energy Storage Grand Challenge Project

This a £5.5M consortium project over 5 years; Durham share is approx. £ 600k. Durham investigators include Taylor, Bialek, Wade, Dent (Eng & Comp Sci) and Troffaes, Jensen (Maths).

 Other consortium partners are Imperial College, Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, Leeds, UCL and Cardiff. The disciplines involved include economists, engineers, electrochemists. The research involves linking material science with grid systems control and planning.
