Durham co-leads UKTI Brazil biofuel mission
(12 April 2010)
Whilst there, the mission met with a number of interested industrial and academic parties. A report on the potential for microalgae biofuels and related biotechnology will be produced for UKTI and mission members.
Dr Greenwell said,"This was a well attended preliminary mission to ascertain the interest in, and perceptions of, microalgae biofuel within a country with a strong pedigree in biofuel research and development. We anticipate further missions both to, and from, the UK to develop this relationship and thank UKTI for their hard work in organising the mission".
The Royal Society will hold a Frontiers in Science conference on biofuels in Brazil later this year, and planned UKTI future events include a high level energy expertise meeting in Rio in November 2010.
