Research Training
Durham’s Multidisciplinary CDT in Energy provides the students with further opportunity to gain a broader knowledge of energy issues from engineering to social aspects. Regular Research Seminars allow the students to present and to discuss their research projects among students and staff. A series of internal and external invited lectures from leading energy researchers have been arranged to allow the students to gain an insight of real energy challenges. Three mini projects have been recently initiated where the students, working in small groups, conduct research within three colleges at Durham, Hatfield, Josephine Butler and Trevelyan, to address current energy issues and to make recommendations for the implementation of the University’s Carbon Management Plan.
