I graduated with a Ph.D degree from the State Key
Laboratory of Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy at Sun Yat-Sen University (Canton, China) in
2000. Then as a post doctoral research scientist I moved to the Department of Physical
Chemistry at the Fritz Haber Institute der MPG / Department of Physics at Free University
Berlin (Germany) to setup a THz spectrometer. I then moved to the FELIX in FOM-Institute
for Plasma Physics (Utrecht, the Netherlands) to use the Free Electron Laser. This was
followed by a period of time at the University of Hong Kong building a femtosecond laser
lab. I then relocated to Durham as a femtosecond laser officer in October 2004. My research interests include: A. Femtosecond spectroscopy (pump-probe and fluorescence upconversion); B. THz spectroscopy and imaging; C. Photonics: luminescent material (inorganic, organic, semiconductor, polymer, etc.); D. BioPhotonics: spectroscopy of biochemical & biological molecules.
