Since it was first introduced by the Harvard Business School in 1908, the MBA has become the "must have" qualification for senior and middle management, becoming almost the essential prerequisite in many business sectors.  Here at Durham, however, we recognise that foregoing career and salary for a year in order to pursue an MBA full-time simply isn't an option for high-level managers in the global marketplace, so we have developed a range of options in mind in order to deliver a world-class MBA experience when and where you need it.  

Leveraging its innovative blended-learning approach to programme delivery, the Global Learning Centre is pleased to offer three MBA options, each providing a distinctive and tailored route to career success.  Our options are:

Study how you want, wherever you want

The traditional part-time Executive MBA programme typically offers either a wholly block-taught or distance learning mode of delivery.  Here at Durham, however, we recognise that the world of business changes rapidly and so, too, do the needs of our MBA candidates.  The Global MBA programme therefore offers true flexibility in part-time delivery, enabling you to blend the type of MBA experience that best suits your own individual needs.

You may choose to study entirely by distance learning, visiting Durham for a Summer School.  This combines traditional textbooks and Durham-authored learning materials with online lectures, podcasts and our state-of-the-art virtual learning environment.

Alternatively, you may decide to accelerate your completion by taking part in our block-taught Global MBA Residencies, interacting with faculty and peers in classrooms at a range of international locations. You may even elect to combine the two study modes to build a truly unique individual study experience - it's your MBA, you decide! And, with support from your Personal Tutor, flexible pay-per-module finance options and access to one of the most extensive suites of MBA modules anywhere in the world, the Global MBA is a truly flexible programme that allows you to fit your learning around your life.

An MBA without compromise

Here at Durham, we simply don't accept that studying part-time off-campus means you should compromise on the essential ingredients of the MBA experience.  On the Global MBA, we therefore offer a full range of careers support and professional development opportunities, both virtually and at our annual Summer School, that would be the envy of many high-end full-time MBA programmes.  And, with a worldwide Personal Tutor network, residential modules available in locations such as Durham, Frankfurt and the Caribbean, together with International Field Trips to countries as far afield as China, France and South Africa, this really is a Global MBA in every sense of the term.
