7th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility

The 7th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility took place at Durham Business School last month (September 2008).

More than 80 delegates took part in the 3-day conference, between 3rd and 5th September, organised by the Business School in conjunction with the Social Responsibility Research Network.

A Gala Dinner at the beautiful Durham Castle proved to be highlight for many of the delegates. Faruk Merali, Senior Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour, London Metropolitan Business School, UK, commented: "...a successful conference and wonderful conference dinner at the castle."

Keynote speakers included:

  • Prof Geoff Moore, Professor of Business Ethics at Durham Business School
  • Dr David Campbell, Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Business Ethics at Newcastle University
  • Mr Phil Young, Managing Director, Esh Group
  • Dr Wendy Chapple, Associate Professor in Industrial Economics and Deputy Director of the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at the University of Nottingham

Providing an integral part of this year's conference was a doctoral colloquium, which aimed to give detailed, personally specific feedback to doctoral researchers concerning their research papers.

The 8th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility is to be held 8-10 September 2009 at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
