Monday 11/5/09-17/5/09
Mon - Rest because racing Wednesday
Tue - 11am - 4miles, 26.06mins (6.30pace). Felt good and fresh but perhaps went a little too fast.
Wed - 7.30pm - Purbeck 10km. 3rd, 31.53mins. Pb by 1 second but a poor race. Went off too fast and took lead for first 5.5km. Got beaten by George, who I beat in training all the time. Lack of taper didn't help either.
Thur - 7.50pm - 6miles, 38.54mins (6.29pace) felt strong, decent run.
Fri - 6.50am - 4miles, approx 30mins. Legs very achy and felt very tired.

Nathan Shrubb Training 6/4/09-10/5/09
Apologies for the lack of updates but I've been very busy with work.
Too much to catch up on over the past month so I'll just post the mileage and key moments.
6/4/09 - 12/4/09 = 54miles. Ended with North Tyneside 10km which went terribly. Got cramp after 2 miles and had to 'jog' in, in 20th with a time of 34.48mins.
13/4/09 - 19/4/09 = 58.5miles. Unmotivated until Thursday when I did a 6km tempo track run running at 32.30 10km (after an 8hour car drive back to Dorset!). Saturday session was also good with 3x1mile with 1min rec, 4.58, 5.01, 4.59.

2 Races...4 Days...

Colin Robinson 5M Multi-Terrain
1st in 27:48.
Not much to say about this race, up the first 2.5M thought I would be off the lead with my usual poor uphill running, but just sat on the leader, he soon started to die, so I kicked on, got a lead at the top, smashed the first downhill, no-one was in sight so just switched off for the last 1/1.5M or so and relaxed into the finish. Positives from this show I can now handle uphills (up to a point), and also I used to be 4th and 5th place in races like this, and now i'm winning them comfortably!

"Hullo?"

Thought I would provide an update...
Friday 10th April - Salford 10km
38.05 (I think - although results on t'internet say differently!), a PB just so can't really complain but would have liked to go sub-38. Might have done had I ran more even paced; I set off much too fast running the first 5k in 18.30 & the 2nd in about 19.30 - oopps!!
Tom claims it was his 12*200m (as 5-4-3) session that got me into PB shape!
