Past vs Present
Cathedral Relays
Durham Challenge

The Past versus Present race is the first race which DUAXC hosts throughout the season, generally in mid-October and it not only offers an inter-collegiate competition but it is also something which many Old Boys of DUAXC come back to compete in.
It is raced through Houghall Woods, near to Maiden Castle, but there is a large part on road so spikes are definitely not advised! The Men's course is around 6 kilometres and involves two loops within the forest and therefore you must go up the main hill twice. The women only go up the hill once and their course is roughly 4 kilometres long.
There are usually prizes for the first male and female fresher as well as for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the individual events and 1st male and female teams.
Come along to see how fit you are and help Durham's current students beat the old students as an individual or as part of a college team. It is a great social event as well as a sporting competition with the chance to meet many new people and have a bit of fun!
More info will be posted on the website's homepage when details of this year's event are known.
The current record is 20.07 set by James Walsh for the Old Boys in 2008.

The Cathedral Relays is the second race which DUAXC hosts every year, and it is largely inter-collegiate and inter-university. It is raced around the idyllic setting of the Cathedral and the riverbank, usually a couple of weeks after the BUCS XC.
Men’s teams are made up of 4 runners and women’s teams 3 runners. Each leg is 2 miles long. It is nearly all on road or path and so trainers are advised.
Registration forms and other details, such as times, will be put up on the homepage once they are known.
The current record lap is 9.29 set by Sean Diranne from "Team Dream" in 2007.

DUAXC hosts an annual track meet usually in the first few weeks of the summer as preparation for the BUCS Outdoor Championships. Many of the top northern Universities are invited and it offers all members of the club a fantastic opportunity to compete.
Details on this year's event will go onto the front page of the website once they have been finalised.
