Strict confidentiality is always maintained as an essential part of the counselling process. No personal information, verbal or written, will be disclosed to anyone outside of the service without your consent unless we believe you or someone else is in danger.
However, if you are formally referred to us by, for instance, your Senior Tutor or GP, and do not attend your first offered appointment, we will alert the referrer.
Some anonymous, non-personal information will be shared within the University for administrative and statistical purposes.
All counsellors are required to have a supervisor to ensure they work safely and ethically. This supervision is conducted in a way that ensures your confidentiality.
