Satuday Morning Botanicking!

Saturday 25th November 2006

Hey everyone, despite our  valiant efforts last week there is still more to do at the botanics, which is good!

Firstly we're going to continue working on the magnesian limestone bed which aims to recreate some of the ecosystem from Thrislington Quarry where we went earlier in the term. We've removed the grass, we now just need to shovel in the gravel. Once completed this should attract lots of insects and butterflies in the summer. Very conservationy!

Also - there are a load of birdboxes that the kidswatch group made. They need checking over - holes need drilling - then we can start putting them up in the woods There is even some wood cut and waiting to be made into owl boxes if we're feeling creative.

Don't worry if you've got loads of work on, it's just a couple of hours on saturday morning, and if you can only manage one hour that's fine too just pop along and help out. We'll probably end up having a brew after the first ten minutes or so - just like last week!

See u there hopefully.......
