Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, Charlie is responsible for centrally produced marketing materials that support both Undergraduate and Postgraduate student recruitment. This involves managing and developing the corporate identity, co-ordinating the production of the main University student recruitment publications such as the prospectuses, as well as other student recruitment materials sent out by the University. Charlie also works closely with both academic and support departments providing advice, guidance and support on how they can enhance their student recruitment activities and ensuring these fit in with the overall University brand.

Objectives

Charlie's key objectives over the next 12 months are:

To use the findings of recent research with Postgraduate students to improve the content of the Postgraduate prospectus.
Work with the New Media Manager and academic departments on the development and content for the new online postgraduate programme database.
Plan and co-ordinate the production of the University's 2013 Undergraduate student recruitment materials.

Background

Charlie joined the team in September 2008, having gained a wealth of marketing experience from the commercial sector. Previous roles include Marketing Manager at Newcastle based commercial law firm Muckle LLP, and providing consultation to One NorthEast on the award winning 'Passionate People: Passionate Places' regional image campaign. Charlie holds a BA (Hons) in Marketing Management and in 2005 completed the CIM Professional Diploma.

Personal

Away from the office, Charlie has a wide variety of interest, especially in sport, travel and photography. He also enjoys spending time with baby Collins following his arrival in January 2011. When time (and the weather!) allow, a game of golf with friends is a favoured pastime.
