Responsibilities

In this newly created role Karen has responsibility for raising Durham’s Cultural profile within the region and beyond. This includes marketing visitor attractions:

• Durham Castle
• Oriental Museum
• Old Fulling Mill Museum of Archaeology
• Botanic Garden

as well as highlighting the myriad of cultural activities that take place within the University, from lectures and sport, to music and drama .

Background

Karen has extensive experience in advertising and marketing having worked for major agencies in both the North East and Manchester. Previous clients include: Nissan, both the manufacturer and the dealer network, AT Mays Travel Agents, sports fashion retailer First Sport, Land Securities plc, employment legislation publishers Croner and Malmaison Hotels.

Personal

Away from work Karen enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her daughter, a little bit of ‘Am Dram’ and is a keen horse rider when time allows.
