Responsibilities
Adam is responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating the strategic marketing activities of the University. His major responsibilities include student recruitment marketing, brand management, new media strategy and implementation, corporate publications, corporate affairs, maximising the performance of the Strategic Marketing Team, and raising awareness and communicating best marketing practice across the University.
Objectives
Adam's key objectives for the coming year include continuing to provide support and advice to senior management on corporate marketing strategy, implementing the agreed Undergraduate Marketing Strategy, reviewing and developing the Postgraduate Marketing Strategy, overseeing the implementaiton of the Web Marketing, Internal Communications and Corporate Affairs Strategies and the improvement of Departmental Communications, amongst others.
Background
Prior to joining Durham University Adam worked for a specialist business-to-business advertising and integrated marketing communications agency in London and more recently an advertising agency in the North East. He has provided strategic marketing consultancy to clients including ICI, Bayer CropScience, GlaxoSmithKline, Air Products, Singapore Airlines, Hotels.com, Celcon, Lafarge, AEG, Electrolux, Zanussi, Croner and FRESH Smoke Free North East.
Adam holds a Masters in Marketing and is a Business Mentor for the Prince's Trust.
Personal
Adam enjoys traveling (particularly to Thailand and the Far East) keeping fit at the gym, cycling, playing football, watching films in his home cinema and loves cooking (and eating), especially Thai food. He is also a member of the Institute of Advanced Drivers (IAM), loves cars and aspires one day to self-build (by which he means pay someone else to build) a house to his personal design.
