Responsibilities
Rebecca has broad responsibility, providing project management and strategic support to the Deputy Director of Communications (Strategic Marketing), the New Media Manager, and Marketing Officers in meeting the team’s overall objectives. The role of the Strategic Marketing Team is to enhance the University brand, its external profile and market position, and to facilitate effective communication with the University’s various publics.
Her role covers all areas of marketing activity including student recruitment, web development, corporate activity, internal communications, and the provision of marketing consultancy support to all departments and business units across the University.
Background
Rebecca joined the University in 2003 as a Modern Apprentice in the Treasurer's Department with responsibility for the payroll administration of all part-time teachers and ad-hoc casual employees. Previously, Rebecca had completed a Modern Apprenticeship in Business at level 2 before applying to the University to progress as an apprentice.
After completing her apprenticeship, Rebecca joined (what was) Development and Communications in 2005 working as Communications Assistant within the Media and Public Affairs team. In 2006 she transferred to the Strategic Marketing Team as Marketing Assistant. Rebecca has since progressed to Marketing Co-ordinator.
She has recently completed a BA (Hons) Business, using her dissertation to focus on the introduction of Customer Relationship Management to Durham University.
Personal
Rebecca enjoys going to the cinema, listening to music, and has too many favourite TV programmes to mention. Rebecca also has a little boy, Jack, and loves spending all of her spare time with him and her fiancee.
