Peter Judge, MBE

Peter Judge is University Secretary, an interim post created in November 2012.

Before coming to Durham, Peter was Executive Director of Legal and Procurement and Group Company Secretary of One North East, the Regional Development Agency for the North East of England.

As University Secretary, Peter is responsible to the Chair of University Council and the Vice- Chancellor, as Chair of Senate, for the effective operation of the University’s Governance bodies. Peter is also responsible for the line management of the University's business Assurance Service

Peter is a lawyer (Solicitor: England and Wales) and an accredited mediator.

Peter is a Durham graduate (LLM International and European Legal Studies, St Hild & St Bede 2002 – 2003). Peter was made MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2012.

Peter is Secretary to Council and Senate and is responsible for the proper functioning of their committees.
