University Committees

2012-13

Council is the governing and executive body of the University with custody, control and disposition of the University's property and finances and is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the institution.  Subject to the powers of Senate, as indicated in the University Statutes, it has ultimate responsibility for all the affairs of the University.  Senate is the University's supreme governing body in all academic matters and, subject to the powers reserved to the Council, is responsible for promoting the interests of the University as a place of education, learning and research.  A series of committees exercise Council and Senate's delegated authority.

These committees are listed below. Links are provided to the committee minutes, where published, membership as stated in the University Calendar, where appropriate, and Standing Orders (wef 1 August 2012 unless otherwise stated), where appropriate.
