There may be opportunities to study abroad, in your second year, through the exchange arrangements set up between individual departments and departments in overseas universities. (We cannot guarantee, however, that such opportunities will be available in a particular subject in any given academic year, since they are dependent upon changing circumstances here and in other institutions.) We are also sympathetic to requests to intermit a year in order to undertake a year abroad, but this does have to be arranged at your own initiative and expense.
