  • All first year students live in College accommodation. Bedrooms are allocated by the College.
  • Most rooms are standard single rooms, although there is a small number of twin en-suite rooms for first years. 
  • All rooms and facilities can be accessed through the college main building.
  • The college has 300 standard rooms with shared bathroom, kitchen facilities and 200 en-suite rooms.

The College is laid out in three wings, each named after a northern county: Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria. Durham has 3 blocks of standard rooms, Northumberland has 5 blocks of standard rooms and Cumbria has 5 blocks of en-suite rooms. Each block is named after a place within that county. The college is built on a hill, floor numbering ranges from floor 1 - 7 with the entrance level being level 4.

  • All rooms in College cost the same.
  • Rooms are allocated on the basis of preferences expressed on forms that are sent out following the release of the A-level results in the year of entry, so no accommodation decisions need to be made or paperwork filled in regarding accommodation before then.
