Collingwood College

Postgraduate Life

Collingwood College has a postgraduate population of about 100 students, of whom about 26 live in College accommodation. Many of our postgraduates were undergraduates here so they particularly enjoy introducing students from elsewhere to the College.

We have a flourishing Middle Common Room (MCR) - that is, a grouping of all postgraduates. The MCR have their own common room with a TV and communal kitchen, and members of the MCR take part in many activities with College Officers and the Senior Common Room (SCR). Unlike undergraduates, postgraduates typically live in College for most of the year. There is a tutor for graduates (the Principal) who will keep an eye on progress and is always ready to help with problems, and advice. There is a nice, easy relationship with the JCR, and graduates often take part in theatre productions or musical or sporting events. Most of the postgraduates also act as tutors, usually to the freshers.

We really look forward to having you in College, and getting to know you better.
