Collingwood College

Communities

The Collingwood Community is composed of a number of subcommunities, interacting with and benefitting from each other.

Junior Common Room

The largest subcommunity is the student body, known collectively as the Junior Common Room, or JCR for short. The JCR runs many of the facilities within College, including the Shop, the Coffee Shop, and the Bar. The JCR also elect representatives to oversee provision of these services, as well as welfare support, social events, arts, sport etc. See the JCR Website for more details.

Middle Common Room

Postgraduate students are also an important part of the Collingwood Community. The postgraduate student body is known collectively as the Middle Common Room, or MCR for short. The MCR also elects people to oversee services for the postgraduate community and to represent the interests of postgraduate students on College committees and other fora. See the MCR Website for more details.

Senior Common Room

The senior members of the Collingwood Community are drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds. They are collectively known as the Senior Common Room, or SCR for short. Many SCR members are members of University staff. Many are members of the wider local community who are committed to the ideals of the College and wish to play an active role in the life of the College. For more details, visit the SCR web pages.
