Introduction from your Senior Freshers' Rep PDF Print E-mail

Hello all new Collingwood Freshers!!

Make sure you add yourself to the facebook group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/146359925505455/

All of our Freps are on there too, ready to answer any of your questions. Collingwood has a fantastic community spirit, and we are all very eager to help you to settle in and join the community and fun from the moment you arrive. I hope you’re feeling excited, because we have so much in store to welcome you here in fresher’s week and next term!

I can't wait to meet you in October!!

Also take a look at the organisation section for info about all the clubs and societies you can get involves in when you're here!

Firstly, a huge congratulations on getting your place at Durham University. Forget all the league tables, university brochures and UCAS points, your next few years at Collingwood are guaranteed to be the best of your life. This page is designed to tell you everything you need to know about what to expect in your freshers week here. There will be regular updates, photo uploads and event information so that by October, you should have a good idea about what’s going on.

It’s going to be mental. Your week will be crammed with music, comedy, dancing and a handful of other star studded, costume clad, neon coloured, marshmallow tasting activities. The theme for the week is being kept a close guarded secret, but all will be revealed soon. We all take our fancy dress pretty seriously in Collingwood, so it will give you a chance to get some mileage out of that hotdog suit gathering dust at the back of your wardrobe.

This website is jam-packed with information about living in college, so have a good browse. Take a look at the Freshers week section to find answers to likely questions and a clue of some of what to expect from freshers' week. If you are feeling at all worried, have any questions at all, however big or small, do not hesitate to email me ( ), your college parent (you should receive a separate letter very soon), Harry Rylot ( ), or any of the reps on Facebook . We are all here to help, and I’m sure we would have had the same questions and worries! You may also find some of the information in the current students section useful.

My name is Ant Conlin and I have the privilege of being your senior fresher rep this year. Aswell as myself there will be 55 fresher reps who cannot wait to get to know you all. University is very much on its way. We could not be more excited!
