It is past the deadline for this to have been sent in, but do still do so - better late than never and will save you a lot of time and hassle when you get here!

When do we have to be there?

Please aim to arrive between 10 am and 3 pm on Sunday 2nd of October. There will be lots of signs and lots of people ready to welcome you!

What is going to happen in Freshers week?

Please click here to check out some of what to expect! In particular, note that there will be a formal meal on the first night, so guys have a suit and girls a dress ready.

When do I find out my room?

The rooms list will be put up online a few days before you arrive. Those who are sharing however will be informed personally and given contact details of who they are sharing with.

How can I contact others doing my subject before I arrive?

Join the facebook group and see some of the posts and comments from about subjects. Alternatively you might have a fresher parent contact you who does your subject.

Who and what are my Fresher Parents?

Check out this link for an explanation of Fresher Parents. You have been assigned to parents (they know your names - their ‘kids') so hopefully will be trying to get in contact with you. Make sure you join the facebook group so they can find you, as unfortunately due to the same postal address problems they have no other way of contacting you. Please don't worry if they haven't been in contact before you get here, there will be a meet the parents event on freshers' week Wednesday when you can meet them in person.

Who can I go to if I am really worried, feeling sick, feeling homesick or just need someone to talk to?

Collingwood Welfare are here for you. You'll see us in freshers week, mainly at the info point or in the welfare office. Ant, Jenny and the rest of the committee are available for a chat or to discuss any worries and concerns. Also, make use of the new welfare anonymous online system which can be found at this link: www.dur.ac.uk/collingwood.femalewelfare/post.php.
