Colleges Board

Colleges' Board

The Colleges' Board is an advisory group within the Colleges Office and its membership is drawn from the Heads of the 14 Council colleges of the University, the 2 independent colleges, the Dean of Experience Durham and the Head of University and Colleges Catering.

It is primarily responsible for managing the Colleges strategy and steering Colleges business as well as monitoring and reporting on the overall and individual colleges' performance against objectives and targets.  As required, the Board will also consider, make recommendations, and advise the relevant Committees of the University on policy initiatives and other matters relating to the colleges and sport and review major policy decisions in any one college.

It is through the Board that the Colleges planning and budgeting process is overseen and where the ownership and management responsibilities for key risks and statutory requirements pertaining to the colleges and sport are held.

However, arguably the most valuable role of the Board is the one it plays in the dissemination of good practice across Colleges.
