Welcome

Welcome to the Condensed Matter Theory research group - part of the Centre for Materials Physics in the Department of Physics at Durham University.

The research activities of the group are primarily concerned with the optical and electronic properties of semiconductors, organic materials, photonic microstructures and solid state devices. The theoretical work extends from the study of fundamental physical processes through to the simulation of electronic devices, and involves methods ranging from algebraic techniques to large scale computational studies. The group has a number of fruitful collaborations with researchers in other universities and in industry, as well as with colleagues in Durham.
