Alumni + CMP Ambassadors
Student members of the Centre for Materials Physics receive a high level of training from world-leading researchers, which enables them to go on to take up posts at prestigious institutions. We have a long-track record supervising students from all over the world. If you would like to be put in touch with an alumni of the Centre, please state so on your application. We have a long history of accepting students from across the globe; we are very happy to put you in contact with an alumnus/a from your country or region.
As a student your rite of passage may have been exhilarating and challenging. At graduation, your time at Durham does not end. Once your degree is conferred you enter into Durham's 90,000-strong alumni community. What you have uniquely become at Durham will stay with you always. This Durham University alumni community is called Dunelm, and it is your community.
Centre for Materials Physics Ambassador Videos
A number of Postgraduate students have kindly agreed to act as ambassadors for CMP. Typical ambassador talks are shown below. Ambassadors are expected to give talks that concentrate of the excitement and importance of their science. They do not need to advertise the Centre at all although if they think the audience will expect some information, sample PowerPoint overheads are available below:
