New content type for random selection of other content items
You can now create a random or cyclic content display (for example, a different content item for each day of the week, or each month of the year) by using the "Randomised Content" content type. See Section 19 of Guide 180 for more information.
Password-protected file downloads
Files (e.g. PDF, Word) can now be protected with a set of usernames and passwords specified by yourself. You can create multiple sets of files each protected by different passwords. See Section 20 of Guide 180 for more information.
Employee ID as an alternative selector in the profile system
Anywhere in the Profile System that you would normally enter an ITS username or Durham email address, you can instead enter an Employee ID. This will probably be most useful when trying to access records for former members of staff who no longer have a username or email address. Not all records have employee IDs, but we will in the future be adding employee IDs to old records where possible.
Minor change to versions process
This version allows us to begin using a new version control system, which will allow us to fix some minor bugs (in terms of complexity to fix, not severity) outside of the version release cycle, as well as making it easier to revert to a previous version of the system in emergencies.
News item lists now have RSS feeds associated with them
A link to an RSS news feed can now be displayed next to lists of news items (ie., on the News Items Display Content-type and the News Headlines Display Content-type). This allows site users to receive and view the latest news items by alternate means. For example, a user may add the RSS link to their news aggregating software (such as Google Reader or My Yahoo!) so that they can see Durham related news alongside other news feeds they are subscribed to.
New content type for display of news feeds from external websites
News from external websites can be added to CMS pages using the News Feed Display Content-type. The Content-type can be configured to show news items in a number of ways.
