Web browsers

The CIS supported web browsers currently are Internet Explorer (IE) and Firefox.

On the Networked PC Service (NPCS) either browser can be used for normal web browsing though IE is preferable for users who have their mail delivered to the Exchange server as the full facilities of Outlook Web Access are available in this browser. All necessary plug-ins are updated as required. IE is the supported browser with Firefox available for pages which do not render correctly in IE .

On NPCS personal IE favourites are saved on the user j: drive in IE but no other personalisation is remembered between sessions.

On the Managed Desktop Service (MDS) Internet Explorer is the only browser provided and personalisation is maintained.

On the CIS Linux Service SeaMonkey is the supported browser.
