Lecture Theatres and other teaching facilities
Computing and Information Services (CIS) are responsible for providing Audio Visual Equipment (AVE) in centrally timetabled rooms (CTR) throughout the University. The purpose of this AVE is to provide teaching staff with appropriate, good quality, reliable, easy to use, modern teaching/learning environment which will help in the delivery of their particular subject matter. Dedicated members of CIS provide this service both at Durham and Queen's.
Most CTR at both sites now contain permanently installed standard AVE. Should extra non-standard equipment be required then an application, at least 24hrs in advance, must be made to IT Service Desk (ext 41515 or email itservicedesk@durham.ac.uk).
Advice and Training
Although AVE has been installed with ease of use in mind, we realise that individual members of staff may require additional training concerning its use. This need can be satified by either attending one of our standard IT course - for details of current courses click here and select the 'Computing and Information Services' link.
Individuals/groups can approach the IT Service Desk (ext 41515 or email itservicedesk@durham.ac.uk) and ask for individual/tailor made training. No matter how trivial your concerns about use of AVE may be, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve such problems/fears.
