LATEX and TEX on the CIS computers
Both TEX and LATEX are installed in the CIS Unix service. This includes the main LATEX and TEX programs, a viewer for DVI files (xdvi), a utility for converting DVI files into PostScript format (dvips) as well as the utilities latex2html, detex and ispell. Unfortunately, there is currently no support for either TEX or LATEX on the Networked PC service.
Support
The TEX system is fully supported by CIS but CIS is not currently in a position to be able to answer individual questions about individual LATEX documents. However, if there is a problem with either of the systems, or if there is something that you think the CIS system should have (eg. extra fonts or style files), please send an email to itservicedesk@durham.ac.uk.
Thesis macros
CIS has a TEX macro available for typesetting University of Durham theses. Unfortunately, there is not currently one available for LATEX users. More information on using the TEX macro can be found in the CIS document Guide 13: Using TEX to produce a thesis.
