NPCS Windows 7 64bit
NPCS was converted to Windows 7 32bit in 2011, there may now be a requirement to develop a 64bit version of the system.
The user expericence will be identical to the current 32bit version, but many hidden system configurations have to be updated to run on the 64bit environment.
CIS now have a pilot test system in place in Durham and Queens Campus, any issues please report them to the IT Service Desk.
All software has been migrated from the current system which will require compatibilty testing before the system can be made live.
Certain applications are designed specifically for 64bit and if required can be requested and installed, see below for a list of what has been installed so far. Where possible a single start menu item will be used for applications with 32 and 64 bit versions.
If you require a 64bit version of an application to be installed please request via the web form here.
