How to install network card drivers
The EnSuite Online Setup CD contains all of the drivers for the Corega Network Cards. They are in a folder called “drivers”. You should have received one of these disks in your room or at your College Reception. If you have not received a CD you can obtain one from the IT Service Desk. The drivers are also available for download.
PCI Internal Card
Make sure the card is firmly pushed into the slot on the motherboard. There is a small 3 wire cable that comes with the cards – this cable is not needed and can be left in the box.
- When prompted for drivers, click the cancel button.
- Insert the CD
- Double Click on My Computer
- Right Click on your CD Drive and select Open
- Double Click on the “drivers” folder
- Double Click on the “RTLSETUP” folder
- Double Click on Setup.exe
- After setup has completed you will be asked to restart your computer
- Restart your computer and the card should be recognised.
PCMCIA Laptop Card
Make sure the card is firmly pushed into the PCMCIA slot.
- When prompted for driver select “Search for Recommended Driver”
- Check the Specify Location box and click Browse
- Select your CD-ROM drive and Double Click on the “drivers” folder
- Double Click on the “laptop” folder
- Double Click on the folder that is the model of your network card e.g. “FEtherII PCC-TXD”
- Double Click on the folder for your version of Windows e.g. “W98” for Windows 98
- Click Open/Select
- Select your network card from the list
- Your card will then be installed.
USB Network Adaptor
Make sure the Adaptor is connected to an active USB port.
- When prompted for driver select “Search for Recommended Driver”
- Check the Specify Location box and click Browse
- Select your CD-ROM drive and Double Click on the “drivers” folder
- Double Click on the “USB” folder
- Double Click on the folder which is the model of your network card
- If your card is the “FEther USB-TXS” you will then need to Double Click on the folder for your version of Windows e.g. “W98” for Windows 98
- If your card is the “USB 100” then just select the “usb100” folder
- Click Open/Select
- Select your network card from the list
- Your card will then be installed.
Please note:
You may be asked for your Windows Installation CD to copy files from during network card installation. You may receive a notice under Windows 2000/XP saying that the driver is unsigned and could damage your system – it is ok to ignore this error – click OK or Yes to continue.
