Climate Impacts Research Centre

About the centre: What we do

The Climate Impacts Research Centre (CIRC) is a new Research Centre set up by the University to better co-ordinate and build on Durham's research strength in an area that has been described as one of Society's 'Grand Challenges'. The Centre has a number of goals:

  1. First and foremost we focus on internationally excellent research in climate impact research. In particular, we help co-ordinate interdisciplinary research within the University and with external partners, such as developing pilot projects in emerging areas, and responding to grant calls from major funding agencies
  2. We provide a focus for postgraduate recruitment in Climate Impacts Research
  3. We provide a focus for external funding of Climate Impacts Research at Durham University
  4. We provide a focus for stakeholders in Climate Impacts work such as policymakers, NGOs and alumni
  5. Our Research Themes
