About the centre: What we do
The Climate Impacts Research Centre (CIRC) is a new Research Centre set up by the University to better co-ordinate and build on Durham's research strength in an area that has been described as one of Society's 'Grand Challenges'. The Centre has a number of goals:
- First and foremost we focus on internationally excellent research in climate impact research. In particular, we help co-ordinate interdisciplinary research within the University and with external partners, such as developing pilot projects in emerging areas, and responding to grant calls from major funding agencies
- We provide a focus for postgraduate recruitment in Climate Impacts Research
- We provide a focus for external funding of Climate Impacts Research at Durham University
- We provide a focus for stakeholders in Climate Impacts work such as policymakers, NGOs and alumni
- Our Research Themes
