Commemoration of Founders and Benefactors of the Cathedral Church
The annual Service for the commemoration of Founders and Benefactors of the Cathedral Church, the University and the City will be held on Sunday 22 November 2009 at 3.30 pm. The Preacher at this service will be Lord Puttnam.
All members (current and retired) of University staff are invited to attend the service and to partake of refreshments in Priors Hall which will be served immediately afterwards. Members of Council, academic and academic-related staff (normally taken to mean staff on grade 7 and above) are also invited to form a University procession
Staff wishing to attend were requested to submit the online Attendance Form to register their place at the service by 11 November 2009, if you would like to attend and have your own academic dress please contact the Ceremonies Unit.
The service, which is open to the public, will include representation from the Cathedral, City and the region as well as the University:
- The University Academic Procession, comprising the Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellors, members of University Council and current and retired members of academic and academic-related staff.
- The City procession, comprising the Lord Lieutenant, the Mayor, complete with bodyguard, the Chief Executive and City Councillors.
- The Cathedral procession, comprising members of the clergy, the preacher and the choir. (University Chaplains who have responded to join the Cathedral procession should not submit a University registration form)
