LAW SCHOOL ESTABLISHES MINI-PUPILLAGE AT GERMAN CRIMINAL COURT The Law School is pleased to announce that the Chief Judge of the District Court (Landgericht) at Meiningen, Martin Aulinger, has agreed to host an annual two-week mini pupillage for a student from Professor Bohlander’s module "Introduction to Comparative and International Criminal Law". The student will be supervised by Judge Wolfgang Feld-Gerdes, Presiding Judge of the Chamber for Serious Crime. The District Court has a criminal trial jurisdiction similar to the Crown Court in England and Wales and Judge Feld-Gerdes's chamber deals with the most serious crime, such as homicide, rape, armed robbery etc. The District Court also has appellate jurisdiction over the County Courts (Amtsgerichte) and deals with matters of prisoner affairs and early release from prison. In civil matters its jurisdiction is equal to that of the High Court of Justice.
