Transitional Justice and Restorative Justice: Potential, Pitfalls and Future

This one day conference will focus on issues of transitional justice, restorative justice and criminal justice in the broad context of post-conflict transitions. Streams will include:

The role of restorative justice in transitional justice

The effectiveness of international and hybrid adjudication

Democratic reconstruction, criminal justice reform and human rights

Abstracts are now being considered for papers to be included in the conference programme. Please email your abstract (max 150 words) to the conference organisers (d.omahony@durham.ac.uk; jonathan.doak@ntu.ac.uk) by the 1st of June 2011, for consideration by the organising committee.

Special Issue: International Criminal Law Review

A special issue of the International Criminal Law Review, under the theme Transitional Justice and Restorative Justice will be published in 2012. Papers on the theme of the conference will be considered for publication in this special issue, subject to the normal peer review process.
