Frances Teehan

Hi Everyone,

I'm Frances and I am studying an MA in English Literary Studies. This is my fourth year in Durham having graduated in the summer with an English and History Joint Honours degree. As Social Chair I organise the events calendar for the year, arranging a variety of socials to encourage a lively and friendly community. Regular events such as Sunday Brunch and Port & Cheese evenings are held throughout the year with additional seasonal celebrations for Christmas, Bonfire Night, Chinese New Year, and many more. I will also work with the JCR on larger events such as Ladies' Night and June Ball to ensure that the MCR always feel like valued members of the wider college.

Aside from my MCR responsibilities, I am an active figure in the wider Durham community. I am a member of the Durham University English Society Exec as Postgraduate Secretary; a sub-editor for the student newspaper, Palatinate; a Durham Student Ambassador; and also enjoy taking part in multiple DULOG, DST and Instep shows both as a performer and choreographer.
