Trains passing through provide a convenient way to travel to any major town or city in the country with direct trains to London, York, Newcastle and Edinburgh, amongst others. Southbound trains may be caught from platform 1 and northbound trains caught from platform 2.
TicketsTickets may be pre-ordered online at www.nationalrail.co.uk or bought at the station. Savings may be made by pre-ordering tickets in advance and through the use of railcards. Railcards give up to 1/3 off a years rail fares for £26 and pay for themselves quickly. Details for purchasing a 16-25 railcard may be found at www.railcard.co.uk. Anyone under the age of 26 and 26+ full time students are elligible for this card. |
