The Researching Paradigm
Currently, I am undergoing a study into methods of improving the accessibility of educational information on the Internet. I believe that scholars spend a large proportion of their research time repeating a searching process which has previously been done by others. Our aim is to use the technology available in Browsers and the Internet to improve the effectiveness of student research by monitoring and suggesting suitable research materials to them.
The aim is to create a tool which will:
1) Assist the user in locating academic materials.
2) Enable context aware suggestions of suitable academic materials to students.
3) Be as autonomous as possible; adapt the results of searches to take into account
knowledge gained from previous searches.
5) Encourage users to recommend articles and documents according to their suitability.
