How To Make the Most of the Careers Information Event

Aims of the event

  • An informal opportunity for you to meet our local contacts and Durham Alumni.
  • A chance to find out what jobs are really like 'from the horses mouth'.
  • To help you think about a wider range of career options.
  • To help you to find out how to enter particular career areas and whether you need work experience.

Questions you might want to ask the representatives .. .. ..

  • How they got into their profession?
  • Why they chose it!
  • What they like about their job and the sector they are working in?
  • What they don't like about their job and sector they are working in!
  • What advice they would offer you about how to get into the profession?
  • What a typical day might be?
  • What opportunities there are for career development and promotion?
