Dragons' Den

Enterprising College - Enterprising People

As part of the College's commitment to be a 'learning' college, in the widest sense, we encourage students to develop entrepreneurial skills - whether that is directly acquiring business skills, the growth of social enterprise initiatives or just 'thinking outside the box' in any area of their lives.

The Dragons' Den programme provides an opportunity for students to put their skills to the test. They have to submit an entrepreneurial idea as a proposal early in the second term, with the help of a mentor they can develop that idea over the following weeks and then, during the finals night, the get the opportunity to pitch their proposal to the 'dragons', a group of highly successful business people and entrepreneurs with connections to the North-east and Durham.
