Visit Butler
Pre-application Open Days
You can get a taste of what Durham University and Josephine Butler College has to offer by attending one of the pre-application open days. The University will be offering three pre-application open days in Durham City:
- Monday 24 June 2013
- Saturday 29 June 2013
- Saturday 21 September 2013
These events will provide an opportunity for those interested in Durham University to gain a real insight into the Durham student experience. Departments, Colleges and other student support services and facilities will be available for talks, tours and demonstrations. There will be an opportunity to meet Josephine Butler students and staff, and to view our facilities. There is also likely to be a limited amount of University managed accommodation available.
Places are limited and therefore pre-booking is required. The booking system will open approximately six weeks in advance of the open days. We do expect our open days to be very busy; you are advised to book early to avoid dissapointment. For further information please see the University's 'Visit Us' pages.
If you are unable to attend the open days, we provide smaller scale opportunities to visit Josephine Butler, please see below for further information.
Post-application Open Days
All students who receive an offer, will be invited to come to our post-application open day in March when you receive your college allocation letter. We strongly encourage you to take up the offer of coming to the post-application open day as visiting us will give you a chance to learn more about Josephine Butler College, find out about your chosen course and help you to make an informed choice of course and University. Our team of 'Open Day' reps work hard to ensure that you enjoy your visit, and there is also the chance to meet students who will be joining you in Freshers' Week. You will stay in vacant student rooms and our Open Day reps will make dinner for you in Butler Accommodation kitchens! In the evening, we will provide you with some entertainment. The next morning, our reps will take you down to your department, where you will learn about your course. Then you can go home. If you are not able to stay the night, student reps will provide a tour of the College on the day of the departmental open day.
If you are unable to attend the post-application open day and wish to visit the College please complete our visit booking form or contact the Admissions Secretary either by emailing butler.admissions@durham.ac.uk or telephone on 0191 334 7271.
