Reunions and Events
Graduation is not the end; we hope that you will retain a connection to the College throughout your whole life. So far, 2012/13 has seen two official alumni reunion events - the Manchester Reunion in December, and the Durham Reunion Weekend in February - both of which were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our next alumni event will be the ever-popular Butler Day on Sunday 2nd June 2013, so be sure to keep this date free!
Of course, our alumni are also welcome to return to College any time throughout the year; feel free to pop in for events such as Open Mic Nights, Butler Live, a formal or just a quiet night sampling the new drinks in Butler Bar! We are always pleased to welcome you back to Butler.
Coming up... BUTLER DAY 2013!
Butler Day 2013 will take place on Sunday 2nd June and all of our alumni are invited to join us for what promises to be an exciting, fun-filled event! As a valued member of our alumni community, I’m sure Butler Day needs no introduction to you, but a taster of what is on offer includes:
- Live performances from Butler’s finest talents, including singers, dancers and cheerleaders;
- An extensive programme of live music from bands from across the country;
- The ever-entertaining Butler Day Awards and Mr & Mrs Butler Competition;
- Fairgrounds stalls including candyfloss, popcorn and shooting range;
- A professional circus running throughout the day - unique to 2013!
- Crazy golf, crate stacking, human table football and more!
- Performance from The Robbie Williams Tribute Show;
Alumni Association Committee (AAC)
Over the course of the weekend, there will be an opportunity for those interested to get together to discuss the future of the Committee and the best method for electing a new alumni representative to join the Committee. The AAC will play an important role in determining the programme of events and opportunities on offer for our alumni, so this is a fantastic chance to get your ideas heard! More details on this to follow.

Some of our reunion events from the 2012/13 year!
Past Reunions:
Manchester Reunion - December 2012
Saturday 1st December 2012 saw 25 enthusiastic Butler alumni descend upon Manchester for a delightful 3-course meal in the heart of the city, followed by a night on the town in the northern capital! Our alumni caught up over some fine Italian food and wine at the Per Tutti restaurant in Deansgate, with stories exchanged from both inside and outside of the Durham bubble. A lovely time was had by all and it was fantastic to see everybody again!
Durham Reunion Weekend - February 2013
Our annual Durham Reunion Weekend took place in February and once again allowed our alumni to catch up in the familiar surroundings of Butler. The weekend was packed out with popular nights such as Butler's Got Talent and Butler Live, alongside the programme of alumni events that was on offer. The snow certainly didn't dampen our spirits as our alumni enjoyed a 3-course meal in a surprisingly atmospheric Seminar Room, covered in photos from Freshers' Weeks past - a nostalgic touch that was appreciated by those who attended. There were drinks and dancing aplenty as the group then hit the Bar for Butler Live, followed by a night out in the surprising new Saturday night haunt of Academy, a novelty to many returning! We hope everybody that attended had a great time.
