I have some experience of training for teaching in Higher Education, and worked part-time as a research assistant, as editorial assistant for a small academic publishing house, and as Resident Tutor and Postgraduate Student Experience Officer for Josephine Butler College during and after my PhD.

That if you really want to do something and you are willing to wait for your chance and keep applying, your break will eventually come along - it's so easy to get disheartened!

Being German and having completed my first degree there, as well as various internships, I can give some advice on studying and working in Germany. Generally I'm happy to advise anyone interested in pursuing postgraduate study or wanting to work in Higher Education in the Arts & Humanities, especially English literature.
